Pink and Pretty

I'm feeling a little PINK today.
PINK is essentially a light red and is usually associated with love and romance.
PINK is thought to have a calming effect.
One shade known as "drunk-tank pink" is sometimes
used in prisons to calm inmates.

Pink is the color of all things that are fun about being a girl.

Light PINK represents a baby girl...pure, hopeful, soft, loving...the world at her feet and a wonderful future ahead of her.

PINK is gentle and soothing.

PINK makes you feel comfortable.

PINK is a happy, playful color, it makes you feel good, calm and happy.

Now that we've had our lesson in PINK...
I hope you're feeling.....
.....calm....
....pure....
....hopeful....
....soft....
.....loving....
....comfortable....
&
....happy....

Hope you have a PINKY good night...

Love your visits, hope to see you again.

my heart trusts in Him and He helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
and with my song I praise Him.

In The Kitchen

It was so cold in Texas this morning (well cold for us) that I thought I would just snuggle in for the day with a good book.  That's exactly what I was doing when I thought how good some homemade cookies would be today.  So off to the kitchen I went where I stayed all afternoon...
Flour....check
Brown Sugar....check
Butter.....check
Pecans......check
Eggs....still in fridge...check
Other Stuff.....check
The cookies I'm making today are Pecan Crisp.
You can find the recipe on my side bar...it calls for 1/2 cup shortening which I substitute with additional butter.
The cookies taste just as good if not better..

First batch ready for the oven...

While they're cooking I would like to show these adorable measuring spoons...They were a Christmas gift from my oldest daughter, Tracey ! !
(not this year, a few years back)

Of course when you come to my kitchen you're
gonna see ducks !
(I know it's really a goose, but I call it a duck)

Dear me, I made a mess ! ! !

......Yummy......
Wish you were here to share one with me ! !

Awww...much better....
Looks like I'm done, but wait a minute....

A pot of homemade stew on the stove...
It's gonna be so good on this cold night.
Got to get the cornbread in the oven, Mr. D will be wanting his supper soon....

I always enjoy your visits, please come again..

Sew Perfect

I have always loved quilts, I can remember as a little girl loving quilts.....not blankets...
After I retired from the "World of Banking"
I thought I would give quilting a try...
just to see if I could do it ! !
The result....this little quilt...

It's very small, but I wanted to go slow and easy
on my first try.  I bought several Quilting Magazines
and read many articles for "beginners."
If you look close you can see I
hand quilted this piece.
It was tedious but very enjoyable.
The first one was so much fun...
I decided to do another...
It's lots larger than the first quilt...
 the larger squares
made it much easier and faster.
As you can see,
this one was also hand quilted.

I had so much fun with these and hope to do
more some day.  I have such a problem with time...
it seems I always run out ! !  (of time that is)

Hope you enjoyed your visit..
Please come again !

From The Bookshelf

Hello, hope you're having a great Sunday...
We started a new ministry at church this morning and it was wonderful...

A lot of precious ladies who love the Lord.
We are JOY....Jesus, Others, Yourself

Okay, on to the bookshelf...today I would like to tell your about an audio book I listened to last summer.  It was a very inspiring story that really touched my heart in a special way.

The boy who came back from heaven.
This is a true story about Kevin and Alex Malarkey.

An accident.  A miracle.
And a supernatural encounter that will give you new insights on Heaven, angels, and hearing the voice of God.

In 2004, Kevin Malarkey and his six year old son, Alex, suffered a terrible car wreck. The impact from the crash paralyzed Alex...and it seemed impossible that he could survive.

"I think that Alex has gone to be with Jesus," a friend told the stricken dad.

This was a sad, inspiring and beautiful story.  This child, Alex, is a true warrior that found grace with his God...

Thanks for stopping by...hope you come again...
